House of Neighborly Service assists and advocates for people challenged by the effects of poverty or facing situational crisis.
House of Neighborly Service (HNS) was founded in 1961 by the Loveland Council of Churches, with the united vision of creating a central location to meet the emergency needs of families and individuals facing crises. Pooling their resources they created House of Neighborly Service-a place where people seeking assistance are referred to trained and skilled staff, there is greater accountability, and a place where the entire community can get involved through contributions and volunteerism.
Provides life-sustaining services to the most vulnerable populations: children, homeless, single parents, seniors, disabled, low income families, and people experiencing a situational crisis.
HNS believes in the hand-up approach and encourages action beyond meeting the immediate need. By supporting, strengthening, and connecting families to vital resources, we help them return to a path of self-reliance.
